Setting Up a Zeo Reactor, is it worth it?

Its been a while since our last post (two months actually). Unfortunately law school can become a tad overwhelming and demanding, therefore something had to take a back seat. Well since midterms are over and it’s almost “spring break” it felt like a good time to write an article on the exciting experience of setting up a Zeo Reactor.

Whats a Zeo System?

Simply put,”Zeo” systems use a man made element (rock) that absorbs ammonia thus bypassing the nitrification process in an aquarium making the tank ultra low nutrient. Most hobbyists will place the “Zeo” rocks into a media bag or a reactor and shaking the media at least once a day.

This is an important step because it releases bacteria into your aquarium which rapidly absorbs phosphates and nitrates.

The filters are unique because the bottom plates of each filter are precision cut but create randomized flow inside the reactor ensuring water is fully filtered and does not pass thry the media.
