How the Zeo Reactor is (slowly) working

ZeoReactor

Well a few weeks back, we posted about the setup of the Zeo Reactor. Unfortunately, the experiment is not going so well. The BioPellet Experiment (disaster) has caused an explosion of Nitrates (NO3) in the main aquarium. Yesterday the NO3 levels were testing between 50-60ppm, which is tragic for a reef aquarium.

The of course is always a brighter side, and that is the levels were in the 80ppm range just a month ago. We did purchase some frags recently, but those SPS frags obviously are slowly dying because the NO3 levels are way too high.

ReefDynamics offering BioPellets UPDATE!

Southern California Company ReefDynamics.com is entering the BioPellet foray by offering their NOPO BioPellets. The pellets are similar to others on the market as they remove dreaded phosphates and nitrates from your aquarium.  The BioPellets are offered starting at $29.95 for 250ml and up to $820.00 for 10 kilos. Obviously the 10 kilos package is for those with smaller tanks…..

They recommend using a Reef Dynamics Bio-Pellet Reactor to insure proper function and safety when using NOPO Bio-Pellets by virtue of the fact that independent control of both bio-pellet suspension and flow through (process) rates are optimized. However, after searching thru their site it is appears the reactor is not available for purchase at this time.

Are you using BioPellets?...
