Monterey Bay Aquarium Exhibit Reopens

DailyAquatics.com – Back in April, DA had the opportunity to go behind the scenes of the Monterey Bay Aquarium and enjoy the exhibits (Visit our Flickr Stream HERE). The experience was amazing, except for one tiny detail, their million gallon exhibit which housed a Great White Shark at times was closed for renovation. It was suggested the big Tuna’s in the exhibit created so much turbulence and force the tiles were falling off, what I heard was the Sea Turtle was snacking on them as well. Either way, we still had an amazing time and really enjoyed looking at the many exhibits at the aquarium.

Yesterday, Paul Rodgers of the San Jose Mercury News posted a very nice article about the reopening of the exhibit. The photos and details of the million gallon aquarium are amazing. Rodgers article includes interviews from Aquarium staff detailing the remodeling process and conservation plans the aquarium has for the future. Well, we have written enough, click over to the article or if you have time this summer, plan a vacation and visit the aquarium!
